Brass Ensemble

MUS 147

Brass Ensemble, MUS 147-01, directed by James Hala, is a performance oriented course designed to study and perform the music from the standard repertoire of Brass music dating from the Renaissance to the 21st Century.  The ensemble carries a minimum of 4 trumpets, 2 horns, 2 tenor trombones, bass trombone, euphonium and tuba.  The brass ensemble is able to expand to 8 trumpets, 4 horns, 3 tenor trombones, 1 bass trombone, 1 euphonium and 2 tubas.  Percussion is usually added to the  ensemble for the final performance of the term.
